Caravan - Golf Girl (1971)

PYE HASTINGS, CARAVAN “GOLF GIRL”

Un 8 de abril de 1971 “Deram Records” la subsidiaria progresiva del sello Deca publica el tercer disco de la banda progresiva inglesa “Caravan” llamado “In the Land of Grey and Pink” (en la tierra de lo gris y Rosado) y ésta banda que estaba liderada por el vocalista, guitarrista y compositor Pye Hastings (nacido un 21 de enero de 1947) y el grupo, aún en actividad, era una de las más notorias representantes del denominado sonido Canterbury por la localidad en que surgieron diversos grupos con similares propuestas como Soft Machine entre otras.

 

Quizás el tema Golf Girl, compuesto por el cuarteto original, es el más representativo del disco, desde el inicio con el trombón clásico y ese solo de teclados inolvidable sobre una sólida batería aquí su  letra;
