BADGE DE “CREAM”:

 

Es el single póstumo del Super trío “Cream” se grabó un 21 de noviembre de 1968 justo 5 días antes de los conciertos de despedida de Cream y  se edita bajo el sello “Polydor” de UK  y ATCO  de USA  y fue publicado como single solo para el mercado de USA un 17 de marzo de 1969 y dos semanas después, un 3 de abril para UK  y el resto de países.

 

Badge fue coescrito entre “Harrison y Clapton” cuando el grupo Cream decide separarse y preparar un álbum de despedida que fue el “Goodbye” pero Clapton  aún no tenía ninguna aportación para este disco por lo que Harrison le ayuda en las letras cuyos versos nunca mencionan el título en mención (algo así como Placa) y se conjeturaron diversas hipótesis sobre su significado, la canción  incluye una frase de oyeron de un Ringo ebrio “ Swans living in the park” y la última ayuda de  George fue el  tocar la guitarra rítmica, que aparece portentosa al minuto con segundos antes que Clapton cante el puente acompañado con su nueva guitarra Gibson ES-335 y por motivos contractuales su participación es mencionada bajo el pseudónimo de "L'Angelo Misterioso”.

 

Con el paso del tiempo sería un tema imprescindible en cada concierto de Clapton hasta nuestros días. Esta canción tuvo como lado “B” un  tema compuesto entre Jack Bruce y el poeta Peter Brown “Doing That Scapyard Thing”.
